Artistic and Creative Development Programs

Classes are taught in either ten week sessions, one day masterclasses or three hour workshops. In each class we'll be covering a variety of topics and techniques to help better understand how to approach Figure Drawing and how Anatomy plays a role in our decision making as we draw.

From Game and Film studios looking to enhance their Artistic Development Programs to teaching facilities looking for masterclasses as well as community workshops, we’re happy to discuss a custom training program that fits your needs.

We're also in the process of adding more classes, so if you'd like one in your area, let us know!

Class description

A foundational figure drawing class that will help demystify and give greater control of drawing the human figure with authority. Over the ten weeks we will discuss and develop the different stages through a variety of techniques, lectures and demos, including looking at how Anatomy can help inform our choices. This will include drawing time with a model as we explore these ideas.

This class is ideal for beginners and seasoned artists alike that wish to improve their figure drawing.

Instructor; Richard Smitheman

Richard has been working in the Film Industry in Los Angeles for the last twenty five years for studios like DreamWorks, Warner Bros and Disney. He has studied at The Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art and with Karl Gnass at The American Animation Institute.
